Cookie Architecture

Policy Scope This document outlines the precise mechanism of data storage utilized by Trackeno to maintain session integrity and enhance user experience for our gaming analytics suite. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising or third-party data resale.

Quick Summary

  • Strictly functional and analytical storage
  • No third-party tracking pixels
  • Data retention: 12 months max

Effective Date: October 26, 2026 • Version 2.1

Cookie Taxonomy & Classification

01

Essential

Required for core functionality. These handle authentication, load balancing, and session persistence.

trackeno_auth_token
session_hash
02

Performance

Aggregates anonymous usage metrics to identify latency spikes and UI bottlenecks.

_gid
03

Functional (User Preferences)

Stores non-essential UI states such as dashboard layout collapses, theme selection, or table sorting preferences. These are strictly client-side and never transmitted to our servers.

Method Note

Evaluation Criteria: All cookie durations are capped by the "Data Minimization" principle. We perform quarterly audits where any cookie with < 2% utility to the core product is deprecated.

  • Risk Surface: Low
  • GDPR Scope: Compliant
  • Vendor Lock-in: None

Why We Don't Use Third-Party Trackers

In the gaming analytics space, data leakage is a critical vulnerability. Most platforms inject heavy tracking scripts that send player behavior to advertising networks. Trackeno takes a strictly isolationist approach.

By utilizing first-party cookies exclusively, we ensure that your player data remains within the Trackeno pipeline. This reduces the "Time-to-Interactive" for your app by removing external DNS lookups and ensures that our clients maintain full ownership of their behavioral data.

Legal Note

While our cookies are strictly functional, users in the EU and California have the right to opt-out of even essential tracking mechanisms via the provided consent manager interface (injected globally).

config.js
const cookieConfig = {
"httpOnly": true,
"sameSite": "Strict",
"maxAge": 43200 // 12 hours
"secure": process.env.NODE_ENV === "production"
};

User Control & Transparency

We provide granular control over non-essential storage. The following trade-offs apply when disabling specific categories.

Category Impact (If Disabled) Mitigation
Performance Metrics Loss of error diagnostics. We cannot detect crashes in your specific session. Manual log submission via Support.
Functional UI State Dashboard resets to default layout on every page load. None. Layout persistence relies on local storage cookies.
Essential Auth Access to the dashboard is impossible. Strictly enforced. No opt-out available.
